Advance On-page SEO optimization techniques

There are many On-page SEO articles explaining basics but some work and some don’t. In this article, I will share my personal advanced On-pages SEO techniques that I use across all of my and my client’s websites

Planning of Content

Before even starting the content you must follow some of these things to plan your content:

Analyze your competitor and google top 10 pages on the target keyword you are trying to rank. Make a list of the following things :

  • Average Word count
  • Topics they cover
  • structure of the content
  • Images and videos they have used
  • What’s the key factor helping them to rank over others

Understanding this will help you to make better content and follow what they are doing. My simple try would be to make content 10% longer than average and add 2-3 more topics over them

For example, if you see all top 10 results include a table list this simply means having a list table is the key factor here so focus on making the best table list over them

Keyword Research using Keyword clusters

Generally, keyword research methods differ according to website usage, authority, and even page-to-page. But to get started making keyword clusters and writing content on them will definitely give a head start.

What I suggest is making a list of all keywords that your competitor is using to rank on that particular query and understanding how many times all these keywords are used on a page

Now replicate that, and add more valuable content to outrank them you can use multiple free and paid tools to do this type of keyword research

Content Formatting

No one likes reading long boring blogs make sure you format it perfectly as per your requirements. Make use of blocks, Table of content, Infographics, review boxes, or even do custom coding to make it look neat and clean

If, you are using WordPress doing this type of formatting is pretty easy with Spectra or elementor. If your website is made custom-coded or on another website builder you can simply use Google to find ready code for almost everything

Make sure it’s mobile-friendly too.
